Kitesurfing Kites are the large kites used for the sports like kitesurfing and snow surfing etc. These are huge kites that can propel a water board or a snow board across the surface due to the pressure of the wind. Types of Kitesurfing Kites:
There are different types of kites available in the market that you can easily choose depending on your need and requirement. All these kites have their own usages.
- Inflatable kites use 5 or sometimes more inflatable battens that help it to maintain the shape of a perfect crescent. You can easily find in the market a 2 line and a 4 line inflatable. 2 line inflatable kites are simple to use and maintain and is excellent for beginners. But a 4 line inflatable kite is for high performance and for the use of professionals.
- Framed single skin kites are a small complex. They have their edges made up of graphite or glass material. A single batten passes between the two edges along with a number of small battens giving it a permanent support. These kites are excellent for relaunch but are not much well loved amongst the kite surfers.
- Ram Air Foil Kites are aerodynamic kites. These kites do not have any rigid batten structure; they make their shape while gliding. These kites are hard to learn but once you have grip on these kites they are very dependable.
Kitesurfing kites and wind:
Kitesurfing can be done in both light and strong wind. To surf in the light wind pressure make sure the wind is 5 knots, at least, you can use large kites to surf in light wind. If you want to jump of you would need at least 7 to 8 knots. If you want to kite in over 40 knots of wind you can also do that by using proper equipment along with an appropriate kite and through proper guidance. If you fall while surfing, remember you can always relaunch your kite depending upon the type of the kitesurfing kite you are using. Equip yourself with helmet, knee and elbow pads for more secure surfing and to avoid any type of injury.
